Beautiful free time

Lately I haven`t has much free time. I have been has a lot of homework, specially a lot of texts and books to read.
In spite of that, the free time that I have I usually spend it with my beloved people. For example, this weekend it was my brother’s birthday so all my family went to my house. I also spend a lot of time with my friends and my boyfriend.
What I really missed is to spend time playing sports. I used to play basketball but the last years I have become a loose person. In fact when I was a child I loved to play any type of sports, specially tennis and football. I also like to ride my bike and dance.
A hobby that I really would like to try is to play the piano, because I think that it`s an amazing instrument that make a beautiful sound.
Next week I will probably go to the theatre. I really enjoy watching theater plays; In fact someday I want to write a script of some play.
I think that I spare my time very well, because I enjoy every minute of it, but the truth is that I would love to have more time to do all the things that I have in mind.

Fieldwork rocks

Bronislaw Malinowski was a Polish British Anthropologist (1884- 1942).
He was the founder of the anthropological current named “functionalism”. His pioneering work in ethnographic fieldwork was one of the bigger contributions that he made to the discipline. He said: “the final mission is to understand the point of view of natives, their relations with life, their vision of world.”
His first fieldworks were on Nueva Guinea. In that place he studied, with a global approach, how are the relations between native people, their religion, economic, and social organization. He also made important studies of different African tribal societies.
I really like Malinowski because he believes that, if you really want to understand different cultures, you have to study the societies in their origin places. You have to live with them; trying to understand the motives of their actions. And that’s why I believe that this type of approach it`s the most important one, because if you established a closed relation with people, you could understand the motives of their actions, their feelings, their ideas. I believe that that’s the beautiful thing of qualitative investigations, that you can understand the real motors that moves not only one person actions, but also the motives of an entire society.

The sensation of music

I really like music. The rythim, the messages, the beautiful relation that it has with dance. Music can transported you to any place, it’s an amazing way to expressed yourself.
I really enjoy feeling music. I like to listen rock, blues, ska and classical music. But the type of music that I really like, its salsa and the sound of African drums. Those types of music make my feel really good. In fact, when my body moves with that sounds I feel a strange sensation of freedom.

The last concert I went was last week, in a place closed to my home where a group made a free tribute to “Los fabulosos cadillacs”. It was amazing. I enjoyed very much, in fact, I think that in that occasion I understand some new messages of their letters.

I think that music is important to people because it’s a way to expressed people’s culture and feelings, maybe their ideas, a way to share important messages with another people, maybe a social critique or some thoughts about love, peace, or any other thing. I also believe that it gives people joy and happiness, its also a way to relaxed, to shout, to dance, to jump, to take a break, a moment to feel whatever that they wanted to.
